Hello fellow transport data addicts,
A couple of days back I was told that the Office of Rail Regulation is
running a consultation about changing train operator licenses so that
they have some new, tougher duties about provision of rail
information.
They're not *really* talking about open data, but I was told that
those of us who want to see more data out of the rail industry should
not let this opportunity slip. I've bashed out a short letter on
behalf of mySociety (FixMyTransport will only get better for more
transport data), but I'd just like to encourage those of you who care
to do the same.
The details are here:

Deadline's tomorrow, I'm afraid...
I've just knocked together a quick response and sent it in, too.
Specifically, I've made the point that timetable, fares and departure
information should be freely re-distributable under a suitable open data
licence.
