An excellent idea. A friend of mine had considerable success with a product that would allow shoppers online to mouse over and then zoom in on product photos. The thing that made it work was crystal clear documentation specifically aimed at the shopping cart system that the user had. And wherever possible a plugin or similar that did all the work for the user. Making things like this easy to install is the key win. Others in the thread have suggested that the donation go to the merchant who then bundles it up and pays it all to the charity monthly, which sounds like the cleanest and most workable way to do it. My only concern would be Gift Aid (in the UK at least) and what you could do ta make that pass through to the charity. Shouldn't be too much of a problem, but would add a tick box for the user to click (and hence a 'please pass my address details to the charity' clause). Merchants might be slow to pass on the donations - perhaps add a ping back to a central server so that the total amount due is recorded centrally and the merchant can then be pestered? Certainly not a key feature though. Good luck :) Edmund _______________________________________________ developers-public mailing list [email protected] https://secure.mysociety.org/admin/lists/mailman/listinfo/developers-public Unsubscribe: https://secure.mysociety.org/admin/lists/mailman/options/developers-public/archive%40mail-archive.com
