I think https://crowdmap.com/ would be even better - It's a hosted
version of Ushahidi and doesn't require any setup and can be used by non
techies.

        Hi

It feels a little rude to jump into this list with a request for
help,
        so apologies, but here goes.

I am (amongst other things) an active contributor to the Mumsnet
forum. The forum members site were recently asked to contribute
to
the Cross Party Inquiry on Unwanted Pregnancy in the UK which is
aimed
at grounding UK strategy on abortion and contraception on
evidence,
health and social priorities and avoid it becoming highjacked by
        religious agendas -

n-debate?).

The request has led to a rich but unstructured discussion on the
site,
with one of the main conclusions being that some people still
have a
hard time accessing contraception, because some GPs don't offer
all
options, and some family planning clinics have severely limited
hours
and long waits for appointments - but this seems to be very
variable
        around the country.

What some of us thought would be useful and powerful, rather
than
continue to have an unstructured natter which doesn't lend
itself to
feeding into the inquiry would be to build a little survey
website
where people can put in their postcode and then answer 3-4 basic
questions rating aspects of their experience of accessing
contraception building an instant heat map of how easy it is to
access
family planning services around the country, perhaps combined
with a
feature where people can add longer stories about their
experience.

My guess is that someone with the technical nous could build a
quicky
site like this pretty easily using Mapit and other bits of
existing
kit. Unfortunately I am not that person (although keen to
learn!).
They are looking for written evidence in September-October so it
is
really is something to be done quickly or not at all.

Would anyone be willing have a go at knocking this up (as it
were...)
        just for the glory?

        Thanks in advance.

        Maya Forstater
