I did exactly this to create a carpooling map for my kids' school. Parents are asked for: • home postcode • offering lift/needing lift/both • how many kids and/or spare seats they have • any particular weekdays And it all gets plotted on a Map Gadget, which I embedded in an otherwise blank HTML page. Maya, if you want to drop me a line, I can talk you through it. On the other hand, CrowdMap.com does look to be a very good fit for what you want, so you could just go with that. Good luck with it!
