I agree with Pierre a change like this requires a vote. The rules are clear about this, they are here for a good reason, and I suggest we stick to them. The growing number of hack proposals calling for votes is definitely an improvement.
Besides, although changes are proposed on this list, I expect to be notified of the actual outcome when it is committed.
