It could perhaps be deligated to the bridge. So, just like cloud.setLocale exists, we could have cloud.setContentType? Still no fix for SCAN then, but for that perhaps it is easiest to clean MMObjectBuilder and move this kind of stuff to a 'SCANMMObjectBuilder' or so, which you should use if you still use SCAN.
