Hi,

Today I came across a (small) problem that has to do with the java rmi
registry. The registry binds on all interfaces. This is usualy not a big
problem (unless you run multiple mmbase on one machine ant don't want to give
every mmbasecontext it's onw name). The simple solution is to create you own
socket factory. I have done this and it all seams to work

I am shure that in mmbase 1.7 we will have more then one socket factory for
the rmmci. one for ssl connections , one for http tunneling etc.

now my problem.

This code doesn't have much to do with a specific MMBase version. Of course I
can create a bug report and put the code in mmbase 1.6. in order to be able
to use the code in 1.6. But what I would like to do is create a separate
module for rmmci. How to people feel about this? is the distro probject
working on something like this (modules) or do we need to start a project for
this?

What's the status of 1.7. last time i checked it just did'nt work?
