IMHO some positive feedback on the bugtracker and/or devlist isn't
enough to become a committer.....Finding bugs AND fixing them, sending
patches, write documentations will do the trick.

I agree,
I am glad with all the work people do, and with their involvement.
I also would like if the developers community would grow, but i don't think making people committer will do the job.
I would encourage to attract developers to show up at meetings more often instead of having them working anonymously at organizations making their own MMBase extensions. Involvement of these developers will extend the developers community.
Developers that have shown a good understanding of MMBase and that have submitted positive things to MMBase should become committer.
