On second thought putting the code in the mmbase repository makes it
easier for other people to maintain it, avoids future problems with
mmbase code depending on old copies which are nolonger available and
ensures the code is still available when I dissapear for some reason.

The reusability of this code outside an mmbase enviroment is another
issue. I agree with you but I would like to take it one step further by
also decoupling some existing features from mmbase like imgdb. This
code can be useful for other projects where mmbase is not the right
choice.
