hi Luís, sí, this is my pen, and I confirm that the ubuntu machine sees it as a wired connection.
so this does not fall in the scope of the umts/3G configuration, does it? does the Fonera support usb-to-lan (already)? is testing the device with the same linux kernel on a different machine relevant? (that is to ask: would it help if I installed an older kernel on my netbook to test device+kernel?) thanks obrigado M ----- Original message ----- > Hi Mario Frasca! > > http://www.huaweidevice.co.in/Products/MobileBroadband/E303-Hi-Link.php > This is your pen? > If it's true, we only need to know if is possible the fonera work over > USB to LAN, like using this http://helpingindia.com/images/414lan.jpg > What I read about that pen, it not work as a modem but as a lan > interface. > > And about your ubuntu teste, you need to use the linux with the same > kernel version to know if works. > I think the kernel version is 2.6.21.7. > > Greetings. > > Em 05-12-2012 15:24, Mario Frasca escreveu: > > hallo everybody! > > > > I have a fonera 2.0n, flashed with the most recent firmware > > (2.3.7.0-rc2), and I just acquired a huawei e303 3G dongle. > > > > the fonera does not recognize the dongle as a UMTS/3G device, it does > > see it as a usb storage device though. > > > > the device does work, out of the box, in a linux (ubuntu 12.10) laptop > > and at the moment I'm using the laptop as my wireless access point, but > > I really want the fonera to do this! > > > > before flashing the fonera with the rc firmware I also tried it out > > with the latest released firmware but the behaviour was just the same. > > > > thanks for all comments, > > MF > > > > _______________________________________________ > > Development mailing list > > [email protected] > > http://fonosfera.org/mailman/listinfo/development > > > _______________________________________________ > Development mailing list > [email protected] > http://fonosfera.org/mailman/listinfo/development _______________________________________________ Development mailing list [email protected] http://fonosfera.org/mailman/listinfo/development
