A quick search on our trac shows an open ticket about this dongle, which
would make it likely it's not supported currently. However, we don't
have this particular dongle available for testing, so perhaps it got
"accidentally" supported by the firmware since that ticket was created.

In any case, it would be useful if you leave a comment at that ticket,
so you'll get notified when there is any progress regarding the support
of that dongle.

Perhaps usb-modeswitch is already supporting that dongle in our version.
You could check the output of the "logread" command through SSH on your
Fonera and see if you see output from modeswitch. If it does not switch
your dongle yet, we'll need to know the usb id of the device to select
the right config file. Could you send over the contents of the
/proc/bus/usb/devices file?

However, in addition to usb_modeswitch supporting the dongle (which
moves it from USB-storage mode to 3G mode), the dongle also needs
support from the 3G dialing software inside the Fonera. It's hard to
tell if that device is already supported, it's just a matter of trying.

If you use a hub, it's best to use a powered one. However, there have
been known problems with using a hub in combination with a 3G dongle on
the 2.0n, so you might be better off connecting it directly.

> Do I have to install de RC2 or the stable release "Paco the alpaca"?
The stable release is preferred, it is more recent.

No, if you update the firmware by uploading the .tgz file through the
webgui, your settings are preserved.
