IMO the reason is that this wiki content has been moved a gazillion of times in the last 3 years, every time requiring a new login procedure of some sort, etc. Moreover, being a community wiki, I don't think it is the right place to host official information. qdoc files into qtbase (which turn into documentation pages) seems way better.
