Genericdesktop is the parent of desktopdevice, which is the legacy I'd for

Hi,

having tested the data proposed for release [see previous] I see no
major issues with the data once the minor corrections have been made.

There is one question I have : I get the idea behind the new
'generics' -- I'm not sure I'm sure it's the best way, but I'm ok with
it, however aren't these two the same ?
