Actually, I hadn't tried swapping the ports on the switch, so I tried
that after I saw your note (and accidentally unplugged the power from
the switch in the process). Lo and behold, it worked! Then I plugged
the cable back into the old port, and it still works. Dunno what's up
with that; apparently power-cycling the switch did the job.
Many thanks to Steve, Charlie, Daniel, and Darrell (I hope I didn't
miss anybody there) for the help with this!
