I hear you. Our client recently cut over from Shaw to Rogers unfortunately.
With Shaw, they had eight static IP addresses when they signed up. That
eventually got reduced to three. When it got transferred to Rogers, Rogers
in a great example of corporate-speak said something to the effect of "in
order to better serve you, we are no longer handing out static IPs". So,
now my client has to connect using dhcp and a hostname which begs the
question. Why is Rogers charging $150/mo. for businesses for a service that
they charge $40/mo to their home customers? There is no difference in the
service. Are corporate IP packets heavier? Sorry to digress.

I am not so sure it is a decent firewall. I saw nothing on their web site
that gave me comfort since they seem to confuse NAT with firewalling.

Why multi-drop? You could have created as many POP accounts as you wanted
on your e-smith mail server. As I understand it, multi-drop is useful if
you have a dial-up account with your ISP.

You didn't have to tell me. Rogers and Shaw divided up the Toronto area
prior to the swap of customers. I lived in a Rogers area. In all fairness,
they have not been too bad for me but I do get the occasional period of
maddeningly slow service followed minutes later by blistering speed and
even more infrequently, total lack of service with the most recent being a
day and a half with no connection.
