I've made some updated RPMs available at:
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/charlieb/RPMS/noarch
The rpms are:
e-smith-base-4.0.12-33.noarch.rpm
and
e-smith-email-4.0.6-11.noarch.rpm
and you should be able to find the source RPMs if you are interested.
You should consider these beta releases.
Differences you will find from the e-smith 4.0 release are:
- Dynamic DNS is enabled for PPP connections, both dialup and PPPoE.
- Support is added for Dynamic DNS from www.tzo.com (but this is not yet
tested).
- The yi DynamicDNS client was not quoting parameters, which would cause
problems if passwords contained spaces or other metacharacters.
- The diald configuration is slightly changed to avoid problems with use
of 192.168.1.x addresses.
- The console configuration wizard is optimized to offer the existing
setup as first choice for each dialog. Thanks to Scott Smith for
contributing the code.
- httpd and samba are not restarted following an IP change, just
sighupped.
- The fetchmail configuration is tweaked to correctly handle mutiple
virtual domains in multidrop mode. Fetchmail now does verbose logging,
via syslog.
- The call to the nonexistent "qmailq" command during the ip-up event is
removed, and a call to flush the mail queue is added in its place.
If you have a non-critical server, and would like to help, please give
these RPMs a run though their paces. Please let me know about your
experiences.
Regards
