Fetchmail tries to evaluate the header field To: to determine the local recipient.
If the mail e.g. comes from a mailing list the To:-field is set to To: 
<name_of_the_list>.
Then fetchmail looks for a field,which contains the envelope address. 
The name of the field is X-Envelope-To: or as in my case Envelope-To:.
Search the header of your mail for the exact name of the field and set 
"Select sort header" to this.
