I've got it to work indicating e-smith as an HTTPS proxy, port 3128 in the
icq configuration. I think that was documented here on the list about a
week ago :-)

Subject: [e-smith-devinfo] icq file transfers????
I've seen a few solutions for this posted here, I have a couple questions
about other ways of accomplishing file transfers with icq2000b.
One way I've tried is to install socks5 proxy and put the following in my
/etc/socks5.conf file...
auth 192.168.0. - -
ban - -
route 192.168.0. - eth1
route - - eth0
deny - - - - - [6660,31337]
permit - - 192.168.0. - - -
deny - - - - - -
Another method that was described to me was this....
Open tcp ports 1024 - 1124
go to icq, set firewall options, firewall - NOT using proxy. then under
user
use ports 1024 - 1124 to listen for incoming events.
use 5190
My question is are either of these methods security risks and will the
second method work?
Thanks,
Jeremy
