VNC is for graphic mode, as you would only have under X on
Linux.  E-smith doesn't run X, so you don't need it.  What you
probably want is an ssh client for windows that will let you
do the command line/admin menu items remotely and can
provide port-forwarding over an encrypted channel so you
can use your browser to get to the server-manager pages
remotely.
