Did you go in the panel and add your FQDN as the jabber server name?

you can also start jabber with
service jabber debug
and then look at the debug log file, I think it is in the /opt/jabber directory.

This is a contrib I wrote about a year ago. It provides a user interface in server-manager for adding users and turning on/off transport services like MSN,AOL etc.

Late last year MSN changed Messenger protocol and the MSN transport no longer works.
