Sometime in the Freenet 0.5 series, it would be really useful to include some form of scripting. I believe if we include the interpreter in fproxy, or generally somewhere in the web interface code, and the code can only call methods that we provide, we can make it reasonably safe. So, we need some sort of virtual machine or interpreter that matches the above conditions. Is there a suitable javascript interpreter (which is license compatible with Freenet, so not Rhino)? Is there any possibility of loading java bytecode into a running JVM and isolating it from all methods except for one class that we provide?
