Just a status update on my LAN project, for all of those interested:

I'm partnering up with Tom Kaitchuck to develop a package making Freenet appear as
easy and user-friendly as the likes of KaZaA. We hope to have Freenet modified such
that it can limit itself to the LAN as a configuration option (by specifying whether
to limit it to your class A, B, C, etc.).

Meanwhile, I'm working on another UI and/or a rewrite of Frost to make it more
user-friendly. It seems to me that now it has the computer hacker in mind (not very
intuitive for non-porogrammers). I'll be modeling the UI after KaZaA, because I think
that it has a pretty darn good one in terms of P2P, though I will certainly pull in
other UI stuff from programs such as Soulseek. As always, I'm open to suggestions.

Has anyone had any more insights as to the legality of this network that I've proposed?

Best Regards,
Drew Bradford
