yes you are right we might get in conflict with other downloads/inserts, but if
we get a share of the bandwith for inserts on every node we should have the same
throughput as downloads (but using more bandwith of the overall network but in
serial). (because every block is independend, calculation would be probably very
simple)

emphasis "using more bandwith of the overall network". The network is of course starved for bandwidth most of the time, due to asynhronous connections. If average uploads is 512Kbit (which I think it is not, I think its actually much lower) we only have 64KB/s to share with a lot of users. This wont result in that much bandwidth being free for your inserts, let alone other overhead.
