I'm sure there will be 20 gig Freenet nodes. However, I think that a hashtable in memory and files on the filesystem will scale to 20 gigs easily. Unless they are all small files. It's when you start running out of inodes that you seriously need to consider moving to a database. As far as people uploading files bigger than 2GB, I don't think that should be allowed anyway. Just reject (or pass on without caching) any files too big for your OS to handle.
