Nodes can be set transient, which is perfectly fine for the
network.  Running a local node, even if its transient, is more secure than
a client.

Yeah, but there is a large cable/dsl market in other countries.  Remember,
Freenet doesnt rely on *everyone* running a full node, just a good large
number.
