I'm doing work on EZFreenet 1.0. Features will include:
Newer interface
"Key Chains" (A listing of personal keys)
Auto Configuration (Automatically find or install jar and Java runtime
files)
Batched downloads
Easy click and post methods for posting a file to freenet.
(Hopefully) Support for new features in version 0.3
and plenty more as soon as I think of stuff (suggestions are welcomes,
as
always)
Again, this software runs off of the java files and has no built in protocol
functionality. So long as the command line parameters stay consistant, I
think that this will make it easier to upgrade one's node without having to
upgrade the entire GUI software. I also think that this will make the
software most trustworthy.
I'm also looking for a spot to post this software for download. This time I
will include a non-setup download with just an .exe file (for those who
already have all the vbrun's installed). A semi-install, which will update
all the necessary system files needed, and a complete install that might
come bundled with the Java runtime and freenet Jar files. Also, I would
like to make a credit section. This section will contain a listing of all
the names of those who are involved in the development of the freenet
project. If anyone has a listing of these, and they can send it to me, it
would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: [Freenet-dev] Timetable to 0.3
It seems like the node is pretty much ready for a 0.3 release. The
question is whether we should hold-out for a GUI client or just
release using BInsert/BRequest....
I would like to say a release in 1 week but since I am moving to Calif
on Tuesday I am unlikely to be able to do anything until next
weekend...
Thoughts?
Ian.
