my perl stuff is fairly experimental, but actually, freesite.pl and
Freesite.pm are the most mature of the bunch. It supports DBRs and
editions (I've got to fix up the case where you want _neither_ of
these... next release :), and it's reasonably intelligent about retrying
and metadata and etc.

If anyone's actually interested in using it, I'm 100% available for
consultation... I'm happy to improve, y'know?

perlfcp is available at the "hobbs"/"Content of No Content" freesite.
