Of all the DSCM's, GIT is the only one I've personally tried, I've been using it on a daily basis for almost two months now, and I like it. There are good tools, its well supported (people on #git are very helpful), and no-matter what kind of mess you get into, there always seems to be a way out. Also, for open source projects GitHub provides free hosting, and they do a great job of it.
