I've always coded it assuming it would be used for both installers, so
unless there is a bug, yes.  =)
I would prefer that there is only one update.cmd on the website.

Hmm.  The new installer is nice...  Have we received any reports of it
not working?
I don't see any reason to remove support unnecessarily... It is not
much work to copy updates to both branches.
