yes you are right. If you refer to http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ there is no quick links in this wiki. This is the root wiki where most of the users would reach first.
So a quick links (same as the old quick links) would be nice, as user can navigate directly to the required page which has now been migrated to respective sub wikis.
