You never will during a routine renewal.  The renewal process starts
with your client sending a DHCPREQUEST to the server that leased your
address to you to ask for a lease extension.  The server will respond
with either a DHCPACK or a DHCPNAK.  If you get a NAK you then have to
initiate the DHCPDISCOVERY process wich will solicit a DHCPOFFER from
the server(s).
