Мирослав Николић It looks like there is also a 0.97.3, though it is not prominent on any of the web pages: http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/dia/0.97/dia-0.97.3.changes http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/dia/0.97/ (I have not used it myself.) Rob, what kinds of extensions have you built? Can you share the source code and/or contribute to the project? I would love to see a more active Dia development community, even though it is a very stable piece of software. But since I'm not likely to have time to contribute code or documentation or etc any time soon, I would argue that me asking "are you people still working on Dia?" isn't an entirely fair question. To me a fair question would be more like "Is there something I can do to contribute?" or "hey I've got this great idea, here's a patch / some documentation / a plugin / etc" or maybe even "can I fund the development of feature XYZ?". Don't get me wrong, I know what it's like to be a downstream developer and user and to feel forgotten. When a commercial software provider slows down work on a product, there's not much you can do; whereas there *are* things you can do to help revitalize a free software project. Philosophy aside, Dia looks to me to be evolving -- albeit slowly, since it is a mature and very stable piece of software. $0.02, Johann _____ From: Rob Wortham <r.h.wort...@gmail.com <mailto:r.h.wort...@gmail.com> > To: 'discussions about usage and development of dia' <dia-list@gnome.org <mailto:dia-list@gnome.org> > Sent: Monday, September 12, 2016 12:22 PM Subject: RE: Dia Discontinued It's a perfectly fair question. I would also like to know if there are any plans for future versions of Dia? I am using it for a research project now and have developed some python extensions. Is there any plan, for example, to support later versions of python? I see it has not been updated since 2011-Dec-18, when Version 0.97.2 was released. And who are you to make such statements? -- With best regards, Andrey Repin Monday, September 12, 2016 17:28:14 Sorry for my terrible english... _______________________________________________ dia-list mailing list dia-list@gnome.org <mailto:dia-list@gnome.org> https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/dia-list FAQ at http://live.gnome.org/Dia/Faq Main page at http://live.gnome.org/Dia _______________________________________________ dia-list mailing list dia-list@gnome.org <mailto:dia-list@gnome.org> https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/dia-list FAQ at http://live.gnome.org/Dia/Faq Main page at http://live.gnome.org/Dia
