As you say in your other mail, there are connection points. They show up
as blue crosses (on the middle of lines, on corners and sides of boxes).
Try making a box, then a line, then drag one end of the line to the corner
of the box. See how it snaps.

If you drag-select or shift-select several objects, you can group them
together. Works nice, but there is no scaling or rotating yet.
