In fact, a lot of the :'s in the code should go away as well, like for text
that gets placed to the right of a checkbox.

Must be something like that wrong with the da/no translation. Gets one
assert for each of the three checkboxes in the menu (Visible grid, Snap to
grid, Toggle rulers), and a lot for just focusing on a display -- these
really baffle me.

Whoops, my bad.

Such as that the right-button menu isn't translated at all?
Oh, and what about the _'s? Does it cause any confusion to use different
letters for hotkeys? Like:
#: app/menus.c:209
msgid "/_Objects"
msgstr "/_Objekter"
#: app/menus.c:215
msgid "/Objects/_Ungroup"
msgstr "/Objekter/_Afgruppr"
