Yes, that's a sorely needed feature.  Implementing it requires some kind of
standardization of properties, akin to what is used for undo.  'Tis high on
the wishlist.

That is very simple to make.

You mean names that are shown on the diagram?  If that's what you want,
there is a problem of how to position the text when a connection is moved.
Not quite trivial, as far as I can see, if you can give some suggestions
for functionality and interface, it can probably be made.
