  This reminds of something.  Do you know plotutils?  Check it out in the
GNU website.  Libplot is a wonderful library because (among other
things) it exports files in many formats: [e]ps, CGM, fig, gif, pnm, hpgl,
Illustrator, any X drawable, Tektronix, and GNU's own Metafile format. It
even allows creation of tranparent and animated GIFs.  That library is
really a great piece of work.  BTW, I think it supports elliptic arcs and
Bezier curves.
