Ok,
so I managed to compile the CVS version of Dia.
I start it and, bang, crash...

[2] + Memory fault dia (core dumped)
using gtk 1.2.7, glib 1.2.7, imlib 1.9.8
Compiled with -g and --enable-debug=yes
Going to do some hacking tomorrow.
