If EMF is the same as the windows enhanced metafile format, you should be
able to read it with most windows graphics programs (I don't know if there
is any linux programs that can do so). If it is some other format, then I
don't know if it is usable.
To create a dia shape file, it may be easiest to find a way to convert EMF
files to SVG (Corel Draw may be able to do this), and then hand edit them
to create a shape file.

This kind of notice seems totally out of place for a public archived
