And Markdown never needs escapes. Right. :-)
It needs escapes in far less places than ddoc does. When escapes are
inescapable(!), you want the solution with less occurrences, not the
solution with more.
As I said, I grepped the Phobos sources for $(COMMA), and found 2 instances,
neither of which were necessary.
