D is not yet finished. Ownership of memory in D is a work-in-progress. Tuples are a hole in a language that wants to be a little functional. Alternative ways to allocate memory are needed by some people. The GC needs improvements. Purity is not yet finished. And there are minor things that can be improved. D3 is not planned, so the only way is to improve D2.
