While your statement may sound nice to you, and to some others in this thread, that does not make it well-founded. What you said was nothing more than a statement of opinion that's as uselessly generic as "premature optimization is the root of all evil".

If you look back at my posts, you can see several instances of me citing personal experience (using extension methods in C#) or trying to relate the situation to existing features (function overloading). If you have evidence or experience that directly contradicts my arguments, I'm all ears, but a statement of opinion alone is not helpful.
