Is not a better strategy, is another strategy. Improving the GC is as important as (or even more important than) having a -nogc option. But an extremely efficient GC will not be suitable for all purposes (specially for embedded systems, which is the origin of this thread). That's just a fact, "there is no silver buller". So ignoring the need for a -nogc option is not going to do things better.
