Thanks for the response Andrew. I need to use 2m, I can reach WA6YLB and WA6LDQ from where I am and I need to go to an area near California City and Edwards Air Force Base, CA If I need to, I may have to set up my own station on one of the peaks, but it would be a lot easier to use APRS. I don't need much data, just a short sentence once or twice a day.
