Andy,

I have tried about all of the digital SSTV programs and Hampal is as good as any of them.
Try this site for info and downloads: http://www.kiva.net/~djones/
A word of advice, It takes a fast computer to really work. I had a P2 at 400 MHz and it would take about 3 times the amount of time to decode it as it did to receive it. In other words if it takes 1 minute to receive the file it will take 3 minutes to decode. A 1 gig or faster computer is about as low as you need to try. It is not the receiving that is slow, it is the decoding. You also have to have a very good signal without any noise. All the programs uses the RDFT to send the data. You will also need a graphics program that will handle .JPG2000. There is a link on the above site where you can download a free program. Also on the sight is a lot of information on digital SSTV. You can also ask KB4YZ questions about digital SSTV. He is on almost every week day on 7.173 +/- around 1800 utc.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [digitalradio] Digital SSTV?

Anyone here worked with Hampal?  I was advised it is software that
receives digital SSTV signals and that folks are using it on HF.  I'm
off to try and foind the software.
