sounds like you might have a modem cable rather than a true RS232 cable......... they have the same connections but are cross wired

Am in the process of wiring up my PK-232 to a
computer and noticed that the 25 pin RS-232 cable pins
don't match. For example, when I checked with an ohm
meter, pin #1 on one plug went to a different pin on
the other end...NOT # 1.  The same with many other
pins.  Anyone ran across this before ??
The manufacteror is Belkin and the model number is:
F3D50810GLD.
Hmmmmmm..... Looks like I'll have to cut the cable and
re-wire.
