Try Puppy Linux as it about installs itself, requires minimal resources to run and to use of your HDD space, and will either dual-load alongside your MS version of windows or run from the CD. http://puppylinux.com/ It is a complete OS that includes office apps and other apps, plus a bunch of others to download. There are also multiple versions created by users that emphasize graphics or small size or office use, etc. I am hoping someone will develop one optimized for Ham radio as well. (There is a Ham one out there but it does not use the Puppy base and I just don't want to have to learn the quirks of another setup.) Oh, and everything is entirely free. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks! & 73, doc kd4e |_|___|_| | | & | | {| /\ {| / \ {| / \ {| / @ \ {| | |~_|~~~~| | -| | | ============\ # http://bibleseven.com KD4E ===================================== West Central Florida ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Need a Digital mode QSO?
