Another hot tip for the FAQ is the boot paramaters to the fb modules: fv and fh. F.ex in lilo.conf: append="video=matrox:vesa:0x11A,fh:85,fv:115" Just toss away that fb.modes and have DirectFB use the same mode as everything else (except X).
