I tried three ways.
1. ByzantineOS Live CD, which uses DirectFB + system=fbcon + XDirectFB.
2. Ubuntu 7.04 Live CD with safe graphic mode ( = VESA Xorg driver)
3. KNOPPIX 5.11 Live CD with VESA and FBDEV Xorg driver.
and I felt ByzantineOS is much faster than VESA or FBDEV.
Why?
DirectFB+system=fbcon and Xorg with FBDEV must be same performance.

------
I am feeling that maybe XDirectFB (VESA driver) is faster than Xorg
VESA driver.
My feeling is right? Or just an effect of a placebo, because
I am excited to have succeeded to run XDirectFB ?
If it is really faster, in what case it is faster? and why?
I think Xorg VESA driver and XDirectFB VESA driver is almost
same, and I can not understand the difference without precision
benchmarking.
BTW, in my environment, "video=vesa:mtrr" does not help.
It runs, but same performace, as long as I feel.
MTRR and write combining stuff, it really changes performace
in some degree? If so, in what case?
Note: I can not feel the difference of MTRR, even with Xorg.
It really helps?
