system=fbcon doesn't tell much about the underlaying hardware (i.e. it
might be vesafb, radeonfb or wathever else).
Either if the Framebuffer is configured to use VESA, DirectFB will be
always faster than Xorg and Co. because it has faster software fallbacks.
So the answer to your question could be: "Because we are better hackers
than those at X.org". ;)
