It might be clipped, possibly by a recent Cairo clip,
but that would not explain why it's always 1/4 and it
might go away with the attached patch, which is my last
diff to trunk. I hope I find some free time soon to
finish the cleanups.

Image providers are usually not used with GDK/GTK+. Applications
are using GdkPixbuf.

Ah. Hmm, it might be that the region is not Flip()ed.

Do you see the missing content if you move the window by holding Meta?

Only the Flip() comes to my mind, which could indicate a bug
in _begin_draw() and/or _end_draw().
